Yunnan Yiwu Zheng Shan Mountain Tea Co., LTD, was established in 2005, formerly located in the land of the famous Pu'er tea tradition --- Wu Yi Mountain Street No. 661, "德茗轩(De Ming Xuan)" puerh tea store. Tea brand include "Douji - 斗记", "De Ming Xuan - 德茗轩", "Yi Cheng - 易盛" & "Song Pin Xing - 宋聘兴".

About Douji:

Douji Puerh (斗记普洱) is aiming the high end market right from the beginning. Douji wants to bring the best quality tea to all the tea lovers around the world. In 2012, Douji Puerh has build over 10 pre-production factories in Yunnan. What is a pre-production factory? A pre-production factory is a small production base in which built high up the mountains. These high mountains are famous for growing wild tea trees as they are somewhat 1600+ meters above sea level (elevation). Only Douji is crazy enough to open so many pre-production factories in these areas.

In our opinion, Douji is not a successful company in making money. This has everything to do with Douji's boss who is consider to be desperate puerh tea fanatic. This Douji brand he created comes with a strong individual characteristic which cannot be compare to any other puerh brand. Most of the puerh factories don’t have such pre-production factories because building one on top of the mountain is very expensive and difficult. Furthermore, keeping it running only a little time during the year is costly. Then why did Douji built so many pre-production factories up on these mountains? The purpose of these pre-production factories are to receive appropriate fresh tender leaves from each mountain during spring time and to process the leaves on a timely basis. Since the pre-production factories work closely with the farmers, Douji is able to oversee the process in which the farmers haverest the tea leaves. Douji makes sure that these tea leaves are at their best condition during haverest.

The pre-production factories also avoid the transportation problem. Without the long transporation of the tea leaves to the main factory, the tea leaves can be handled gingerly to prevent bruising and unwanted oxidation. Once finish harvesting, all the tea leaves within that specific mountain will be taken back to its pre-production factory in the area for withering, fixation, rolling and sunning. All of the pre-production procedure are under the supervision of Douji to ensure product quality. According to Douji, each pre-production factory can process up to 3 ton of fresh leaves each day, but only around 70% of these leaves can go further down into the pre-production process after picking out the bad leaves and branches. Douji sets a extreme high requirement in the process of picking the tea leaves to ensure the best quality and best taste for the puerh tea to be produce.

There is a say that other tea companies and personal tea producer in Yunnan will never ask Douji to process thier tea leaves. Since the waste percentage for picking in most tea factories are only 5%-10%, not to mention that some of the factories don't even pick, a 30% waste might not be acceptable for many people.  This situation is something well known for the people who are in the tea manufacture business at Yunnan.

After all the pre-production process had been finish, the dry tea leaves will be taken back to Douji’s main factory in Meng Song for compressing into cakes or bricks than packing. It should be noted that Douji produce most its puerh tea from spring tea leaves, and as a result Douji’s pre-production factories are at full capacity during March to End of April for the production of spring puerh tea.  Douji has tried to produce puerh tea using autumn tea leaves before but they thinks that spring tea is much better both in aroma and quality and as a result they only produce a small amount of autumn tea. This makes the running cost for the pre-production factories even much higher.

It is also very important to note that Puerh tea can come from different kind of trees, as different kind of trees completely influence the taste and the value of your Puerh tea. Douji only uses small tea trees and big tea trees(old wild tea trees tea leaves) for their puerh tea. They don't use any other kind of other tea trees to produce their Puerh tea.

Low quality puerh tea are mostly produce from plantation bushes which are also known as the garden tea bushes or Taidi. Taidi are grow from the seeds or cuttings of the wild tea trees to a lower altitudes with flatter terrain. These trees grow on a crowed environment which means they need to fight for food in order for them to grow. Puerh tea produced from Taidi are considered to be inferior due to the use of chemical fertilizer to speed up their growing process and to provide enough food for them. High quality puerh tea are produce from small tea trees and big tea trees(Wild trees) which are also known as old tea tree. These trees are grown without human intervention on mountains with high altitudes, growing in a wide open area which allows them to absorb all the food it needs to grow healthily. They are the highest valued puerh teas. Such teas are valued for having deeper and more complex flavors.

Most puerh company purchase finished dry maocha directly from suppliers or farmers and pressed them into cakes afterward. This way, it is very hard to control the quality of the teas. They do not care what kind of trees the leaves are from nor the period in which the leaves are grown. Finished dry maocha purchase from different suppliers and farmers might also have different way of processing during the pre-production period. The tea leaves might be burnt, have broken leaves, or the tea leaves might have yellow leaves. Many farmers do not know how to process the tea leaves into maocha. All of the above factor determined the value, the quality and the cost of the puerh tea produced.
