About Yixing Zisha Zhu Ni Clay Teapot (Part 1)

The clay components of Zhu Ni (朱泥) teapot contain similar elements as pottery soils which are used to make clay teapot. Basic components include aluminum, calcium and quartz, but the most interesting component of Zhu Ni clay is that it contains high concentration of iron. The iron component in Zhu Ni clay can be from 14% to 18%, which is why Zhu Ni pots are usually red. If the iron concentration within the clay is around 4%, the color of the pot after it is made will be light yellow; 7% show Satin Mud, chinese name Duan Ni 缎泥, which is yellow; 10% will showed a natural or light gray colour; 13% will be brown or coffee.

Thanks. Very informative. Does a yellow Duan ni pot go best with any particular kind of tea? Like green oolong?
